Alligator bark

I went on a lovely, long hike today out in the Pilot Hill area. It was sloppy from recent snow and then melt so it was a little snow and a little mud. It was a beautiful day but the wind really picked up on the way back and I was ready to get back to the car. I was bummed to have forgotten my fitbit. I love to see how many steps I've taken. I'll just have to hike it again.

There isn't a lot of photo ops out there as everything is brown and snowy. But we passed a clump of tall juniper trees that were laden with berries. The bark was really pretty and that was my blip. I have included the small clump of trees as an extra.
