University challenge

Today it's the turn of oxford University to receive our presence.

The original plan was to travel today and visit the university tomorrow.

But with good weather forecast we set of early and we've had an excellent day looking at three colleges and listening to talks about finance and the admissions process.

The architecture has taken my breath away and we have been impressed by two out of the three colleges we have visited.

This is Merton College. I liked the view through the arch. But it's been a blipfest today because the architecture and views have been fabulous all day.

All the students we have spoken to, or listened to in talks, have spoken very highly about the university and more importantly about the support that students get.

It's the message of support on so many levels that is really coming to the fore here.

Adam is sitting at the desk in the hotel while I write this.

I think tomorrow will be like a military operation so that Adam sees as much as he can.

I'm hoping to see the sports facilities: it would be nice to see where Dr Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile.
