Rhubarb ..... my favourite .....

..... but at over £9 per kilo I'll stick to the tubs of frozen rhubarb that I have in the freezer. The frozen stuff lasts for ages so no need to spend large sums of money to buy the early, forced stalks.

We used to have rhubarb growing in the garden of the house where I spent most of my childhood and I remember my mum giving me a wee egg cup of sugar and a stick of rhubarb ..... I still remember the taste of the very sharp rhubarb encased in a covering of crunchy sugar.
