Broadcast Awards
I haven’t been to these particular awards for a long time. They are brisk and efficient and normally quite relaxed. They have an odd catchment period so have refreshingly different shortlists than the others, they scoop up long forgotten heroes and are the advance warning of the BAFTAs. They don’t have the actor awards so it’s all programmes and specials. We were up for ‘best international sales’ for Wreck, I know, thrilling. We didn’t win. Still it was nice to hang out with Noemi and other colleagues and catch up with several old friends.
The weather was filthy today, wet and cold and I had to lug bags up the premier hub at Marylebone via the place where I was getting my best coat mended. So i felt a bit bedraggled before changing. Note to future self: I wore my long black Paul Smith dress with my Peter Pilotto sparky jacket over the top. Old faithful.
We didn’t hang around long afterwards and had the foresight to book cabs back to the hotel. Old pros.
