Liverpool Central Library
I was scheduled to be dog sitting in the North Lakes this week, sadly J has broken her hip (while doing a strong yoga balance) and her India trip was cancelled at the last moment. This left me with a fairly free week so it was an opportunity to act on the recommendations of various friends and make a trip to Liverpool.
I almost missed the Avanti train, the local trains were all cancelled so I got the bus into town which took almost an hour in exceptionally heavy traffic to go 3 miles, I should have walked. Coincidentally the lady sitting next to me was getting the same train, we alighted once we’d crossed the Clyde and ran the last 500m or so.
Thus far I have visited the outstanding Walker Art Gallery, the World Museum and Liverpool Library all of which were within minutes of Lime Street Station. I’m staying in the top rated Resident Hotel, good value at under 50 quid a night, with a large bath, Molton Brown toiletries and a small kitchen.
