Les vœux du Maire

Each year in January, the Maire gives a resume of the previous year and outlines projects for the coming year. He gave a good presentation. There were approximately 300 people who attended. It was followed by a very impressive array of food and drink laid on by the hotel school in the village. The school is a last chance saloon for young people who have been in difficulty and attempts to provide them with skills and opportunities that could be life changing. I was introduced to the director and have been invited for a meal with them and discussions as to how I might help with their English, not with formal lessons but accompanying them in their activities.
