Balancing act

It was not a great day for a walk given that it was cloudy with rain in the air. However, it was much milder than of late and it was good to get back in the saddle after the Christmas break. The walk was only a little over eight kilometres with 350 metres of ascent. The circuit was very familiar and it had the rare advantage of having a café open in the village on our way back. We stopped for a drink and ate our sandwiches outside. When I returned, I got a phone call from the club saying I had left my tennis rackets out on the veranda yesterday. I went to collect them and was very relieved that no passer-by had taken them when walking past the club.
