Monte Vista Hotel

Friday 21st June - First of all I'd like to say how moved I am by the requests for more photos; wifi has been patchy and I've been busy adjusting to this holiday malarky, but I'm now settled in Blowing Rock NC and will try to get up to date in the next day or two. ok, there was only one request but I'm needy.


We have one more night at the Comfort Inn but it's a bit crummy, so we decided to treat ourselves and check into the Monte Vista for the following three nights. It's on mainstreet, so just a short walk from eats and drinks.

In the afternoon we drove up to Tomahawk Lake for a picnic and congratulated ourselves on discovering this corner of NC. Just like Columbus 'discovered' America.
