Good Ol' Boys

Only 120 miles drive this morning from Charlotte to Asheville where we discovered a town encircled by Interstates and populated with chain motels planted just a few feet from the roadside. So after a couple of hours fruitless search for somewhere to spend a few nights we headed 15 miles east to Black Mountain and a similarly characterless Comfort Inn.

But Black Mountain looks promising, just a few criss-crossed streets of eating places, shops and galleries. We found this amazingly accomplished band of musos in an Ale House while we devoured superb burger and fries.

Note to MikeS - Asheville turned out to be ok once we got inside the Interstates a couple of days later!
