looking in

I was feeling well enough today to go in for a busy Friday at work with 33 Christmas lunches, and a Festive Afternoon tea. The cafe is closed now until 3rd January.

We finished a bit earlier than usual so I had an hour and a half to wander the streets of Dumfries before my bus home. Looking into cafes and pubs from a dark street makes me feel some of the isolation commonly experienced at Christmas. There's a real divide between the ideal and the real and for many this will be difficult or a lonely time.

Tired tonight so I've sat by the fire doing some jigsaw and now it's time for some TV.
