Reading with Dad

As the forecast was awful today we had a surprise message yesterday evening from our Oxford family to say they had decided to set off and would be with us late.  Euan fell asleep in the car and transferred to bed on arrival with barely a murmur.  It was lovely to be woken this morning by him climbing in to bed with us and snuggling down.

So what to do on an extremely windy and showery day?  We decided on a visit to Salt's Mill and lunched there before exploring the floors and galleries, with Euan enjoying going up and down in the lift several times.  He does like the children's book section and here he is engrossed in a book with his Dad.

We were home mid afternoon and what to do to keep a tired little boy going?  It was time to take out the pipes and guttering and create a ball run with the 'spaceballs' I found on the internet.  We went through several designs with Granny and Grandad acting as assistants shuttling the balls backwards and forwards and standing the skittles upright, until Euan designed a run which he could manage from one place, at which point we were redundant and could retire to the settee to watch the action.
