Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR went to one Sunday gym session - she takes it easy on a Sunday. I suggested she had a day off and relax, a cuppa in bed, but no.

Archie and I went round the block to the Links. It wasn't raining, but it was pretty dreich.

In the afternoon, our pal Christina came over for a visit, so we caught up on all her family news. And a few gins, a baked Camembert (yum yum) and a coffee and shortbread, then JR and Archie accompanied her to the bus. Then they had a walk around the festive shops.

We had Christmas music on, from my new fully paid up Spotify membership.'Fairy Tale of New York' came on a couple of times. LOUD! (Sorry neighbours). I found a lovely album of Christmas music on piano. How nice that was! But, because of my new power (paid membership) I can choose which song to play, so we had a 'guess the Christmas song' which was good fun. I knew because I had the playlist, Christina knew by the third note (she sings in a choir), and JR knew by the fourth note... Archie was very sociable. He often sits away in the kitchen if visitors are here. But no, he hung around, and slept on the rug, and then hung around more - the smell of the cheese must have been driving him mad!
