Christmas Carol
After reading about a carol concert in London that went viral on Tik Tok, 7,000 turned up leading to it being cancelled, I was determined to be early today for our local one.
While it was most unlikely such a thing would happen in our quiet town of Bridge of Allan, I was taking no chances. We do after all live in strange times.
As it happened there was a reasonable gathering in St Saviours church with lots of mulled wine and mince pies afterwards .
The surprise came when I read the programme. It wasn’t a carol concert but a Christmas Carol telling of Charles Dickens famous story told through half a dozen voices.
Apparently, these events are becoming quite common, and it was brought to our area by a Canadian member of the congregation who had experienced them back home.
Well, it offered a brief respite from the frantic rush of Christmas shopping.
