Wildlife in our gardens

 
Our road had its annual drinks party yesterday and one topic of conversation was the wildlife in our gardens. We are lucky in our close proximity to Mine woods and this was reflected in the wildlife.
 Foxes quarrelling in the night featured prominently in two gardens then came the deer ( some people had given up trying to garden, resorting to evergreen shrubs and a lawn), red and grey squirrels fighting for territory and many reported a sparrowhawk , one was seen devouring a pigeon, plus a wide variety of small birds.
We agree grey squirrels and pigeons are unwelcome visitors ( see extra.) And there is no way of humanely deterring them.
