Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR didn't go the gym today. Nothing to do with the fact that she stayed at Hazel's for several hours longer last night. I came home about 5pm, as Elizabeth was returning with Archie.

But it's all action stations now! Our Festive lunch is on Tuesday, so there's a deadline now. It's not a traditional roast turkey and trimmings. But it will be fabulous. The table is set, and now it's down to the fine tuning of tasks tomorrow.

JR rushed off to Waitrose early, and was back in time to welcome our visitors - Becky and Daniel, who used to take Archie for walks a year or so ago. I told him they were coming, so he was up on the chair, looking out the window waiting for them. And he gave them such a good welcome - running out, barking, yelping, crying, jumping up, rubbing their legs. (Better than any welcome he gives us...) They were delighted!

They live in Newcastle now, and love it. Accommodation is more affordable, and they're handier for London, and indeed, back up here. We had a good catch up with them before they headed off into town.

I took Archie for a walk while JR busied herself with chores. Though he refused to go out again later when it was raining a bit. Funny he has no problem going out in the rain when it's Elozabeth...
