Come Back And Finish What You Started

Two years after starting this project all upgrades are now completed. Admittedly, for most of that time, I didn’t actually own the guitar, but I’m going to gloss over that minor detail!
Starting with buying a basic Squier Jaguar in November 2021, I added a Fender bridge, flatwound strings and a thumb rest, as well as giving the neck a going over with wire wool. And then, four months later, I traded it in. Fast forward to November 2023 and I bought the guitar back and ordered a Bartolini MM Classic pickup to be fitted in due course. The pickup was out of stock for a while, but arrived - and was fitted - this week.
Yesterday, I stripped the guitar down again and took the neck off so that I could properly sand it smooth - even after two years use there was still some roughness, despite the previous going over with wire wool. This time, I was a lot more confident with what I was doing and used 1500 and 2000 wet and dry paper to get a satin smooth finish.
So, it’s all finished now and looks and feels just how I hoped it would. It sounds pretty good just on a basic amp setting, and I’m looking forward to playing it in anger at tomorrow night’s gig.
Which will hopefully answer the inevitable question - is this one going to be a keeper?
We’ll just to have to wait and see…
