Newcastle: day two
Unusually, we abandoned the itinerary for today after deciding that we'd like to return to Byker. We started, though, with coffees at Wetherspoons, having wavered briefly near the beers, and then took the walk along the river.
It was perfect walking weather: chilly and sunny. I'l love to come back here and run, actually. I wonder how far you can run along the riverside?
Anyway, we walked up to the point where a little river - the Ouseburn? - meets the Tyne, and turned to walk up it, past what might have been warehouses, outside of which the boat in today's picture was moored up.
After that we visited a few pubs and then I walked back into Newcastle to go and pick up a present for my niece from Hollister.
And the evening was more pubs, plus a very nice meal at a place called Broad Chare, which I confidently recommend to you.
