Pure Magic!
Grace was very late getting here from a 40th in London yesterday not helped by her train being cancelled and all the underground stations shutting down due to congestion. She got to Kings Cross on a rickshaw bike and literally got the last train NE out of London. It wasn’t her booked train line but they allowed her to travel without further charge and she got into Bradford, rather than Leeds, at 11.30 pm where John picked her up.
Glad she did make it as we’ve had a magical morning on the Elf Explorer run by Keighley and Worth Valley Railway out of Oxenhope at 9.00am this morning.
They really are well organised and do the whole thing brilliantly.
Here is the moment when Eda met Santa. This is the third year we have done this and on previous occasions she has been very shy of Santa and even a bit scared of Rudolph his companion. Not this year. She high fived him, showed him her elf and gave him the picture she had coloured for him as well as wishing him Merry Christmas.
Jude was a little more reticent but they both enjoyed their presents. The helpers brought them juice and chocolate coins and the adults mulled wine and mince pies and together with entertainment from singing, dancing and juggling elves - what more could you want.
Both girls played with their gifts whilst dinner was made when we got home, Eda got a rock painting and decorations set complete with rocks so she made everyone a table present. Jude got a play dough castle which she was busy decorating with daddy. Both great choices for them.
Straight after eating they had to dash off as a friends 2 year old was having a party nearby and they were calling in en route home. They were a bit late but our chicken was quite big and took a while to cook!
We’ve all had a magical weekend and the best bit is we will see them again next week when we will hopefully get there in time to attend Eda’s school Nativity on Wednesday.
I think I can safely say the elves were a great success too!
