Kilmartin Glen
This is an amazing glen, it is an area of outstanding archaeological importance particularly for the Neolothic and Bronze age. Within the glen are around 350 monuments which include standing stones, burial cairns and this castle.
Look large to see the details. This is Carnassarie castle in the foreground which is a 16th century tower house and stands at the top of the glen. The village of Kilmartin is about mid left in the shot and in the back ground the glen opens out onto the Moine Mhor or "Great bog". If you are interested in archaeology this is the place to visit.
After a dull start it was very sunny this afternoon so I set off to look for Forester moth at the top of the glen, I did not see them today but I know they are around and I did see them a couple of years ago.
