Odd Sock Day
For those in the know, it is Odd Sock Day today. Trust me I have it from the highest authority - none other than Capricorn Socks from whom I have purchased a pair of their mohair ones. With all the scams going around at the moment this may of course also be one , but at least it’s harmless and doesn’t involve any exchange of personal details. It also allows me to have a blip, something that was so far missing in the can today given the gloomy wet weather which discouraged any lingering outdoors.
I did meet up with some friends in the morning before walking to daughter #2’s house to deliver a birthday card for her birthday tomorrow. She will be leaving for work at 6am and will not be home until after 8pm and so I hope she has a chance to hear the National Anthem played on her car radio first thing. We used to tell her it was played just for her until she discovered she shared her birthday with the King.
I paid the estate gardeners in Blue Riband biscuits to blow all the fallen leaves off the patio while they were doing all the rest of the grounds. What a difference it makes not to have to do it by brush and shovel myself and then bag everything. I wish I had thought about it for all the autumn leaf fall in years past.
