Reflecting

It’s a beautiful Armistice day-mild, windless and sunny, peaceful too in this part of the world. I watched the Remembrance Day events at the Cenotaph in London and couldn’t help wondering as I saw the seemingly endless parade of the military pay  homage to the fallen what the human race have learned about conflict in all the thousands and thousands of years we have lived on earth. It seems we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes forever. Do you suppose that if the warmongers amongst us were to have a trip in a spaceship and look down on the small insignificant globe that is our planet, orbiting in the blackness and vastness of space, they might think differently about waging war on their neighbours?
