Sausage Rolls and Rowers

The morning was sunny, still and clear. I needed to go to Emsworth to collect a new pair of glasses. Andy and Merlin joined me so we could walk along the foreshore afterwards, and pop to the bakery for a cup of tea and a sausage roll. We enjoyed these sitting on the quayside watching the world go by and chatting with passers by. Many people stop initially to say ‘hello’ to Merlin, rather than to speak with us!

Grateful for:
- The view of the sunlight on the golden leaves of the oak tree in our back garden as I lay in bed this morning.
- The infectious joy of the rowers at Emsworth embarking on the return leg of their journey across Chichester Harbour after a break for coffee (they are just visible in this photo).
- Sitting in the garden at dusk with a warming drink enjoying the peace, cool air and the birds calling.
