Beach Walk
West Beach, Hayling Island at low tide this afternoon. The reflections of the light on water were magical. As we walked a cool northwesterly wind whipped up the crests of the waves and blew them backwards. A lone surfer played in the waves.
The beach was noticeably different for the recent storms - bands of red seaweed were stranded on the shore, along with sea shells and thickened areas of sand. It’s fascinating here, different each time we visit and always so much to see and be intrigued by. We returned satisfied and ready for a warming cup of tea.
Grateful for:
- Watching Merlin’s delight as he dared himself to run through the shallow waves breaking on the shore.
- Freshly harvested leeks from the allotment, creamy and perfect for weekend soup making.
- The warmth and comfort of glowing log fire in our home this evening.
