A nice day out

As it turned out there was only 2 of us that went on the photo society outing to Kentville today. There was supposed to be one other person going but she never showed up. I drove and Fred was the passenger. I can see us doing more photo walks and trips together. We stopped at the various pumpkin people displays around Kentville then had a walk around town. There are several murals on the walls of some of the businesses so I took some photos of them.
At lunch time neither of us wanted a restaurant meal, just a sandwich was fine for us. So I said 'Let's go to Sourdough Bakery and get a sandwich, we can sit in the truck to eat, then take the back road up to The Lookoff.' The picnic parks were all closed for the season so that was not an option. It was sunny and 25 C, so it was nice to be outside.
As we were driving down one of the roads to get to The Lookoff, I spotted a Halloween display. I would love to see it at night but it is too far for me to be comfortable driving after dark. The top left photo shows part of the display.
Both Fred and I have Canon Rebel cameras so his lens fit my camera too. He has more lenses than I do, I only have 2 that I use. He said I could try his different lenses. He had a wide angle, a 100 - 400 mm and an 18 - 135 mm lens. I would love to try the 100 - 400 mm lens for some bird photos. The 18 - 135 mm one is more versatile than my 18 - 55 mm kit lens. So I know what I will be looking for in the future.
While I was out I had a message from the guy with the mini home for sale. He accepted another offer today from someone who already had financing in place. It wasn't meant to be, but when the time is right, the right place will come along.
Thanks for the condolences on the passing of my grand nephew.
