Halloween display

A much cooler day today, the temperature this afternoon was only around 7 or 8 C, so about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday.
After brunch I had a drive around to see a few Halloween displays. This was my favorite one.
I had a message from the mini home owner overnight. He said he would still like to see my offer since the other offer he had may not be able to get financing. He thought that I already had financing in place. Then he asked me what my offer would be so I told him and offered slightly above asking since I knew there was another offer. And other mini homes seem to be selling above asking price. Then he told me what he would accept which was $10,000 lower than what I had offered. Then he mentioned the roof which he claims has another 3 - 4 years. I said I planned to include that in my offer and that I would let my home inspector decide how many years the roof has. When I mentioned the home inspection, he changed his mind, said he wasn't going to sell it to me and that he may not sell at all. I told him that a person would have to be stupid to buy a place without an inspection and that I wondered what else was wrong with the place. He claims there is nothing else wrong. It's a good thing I am out of that situation now.
