derelict

One of the comments made by the photographers who created the exhibition currently on show at The Usual Place was that they wanted to make a record of the church interiors while they were still in use. It's too late for this one - Lochrutton Church, which occupies a beautiful setting above the village of Lochfoot. Built in 1819 to a design by Walter Newall, it was only closed just over 10 years ago, but has already fallen into a state of disrepair. There is still a cemetery outside where burials take place, so this is being maintained, unlike the church building.

More gardening today - just nice to spend time outdoors as it was mild and sunny :-)
