exploring

Well..this photo shows that it is possible to make an interesting evening look incredibly boring! 

Joanna had invited me along to a Royal Scottish Geographical Society talk at the Easterbrook Hall. The title was "Wounded Tigris : A River Journey Through the Cradle of Civilisation" and the speaker was Leon McCarron, who hails from Northern Ireland, lives in Iraq and is an excellent speaker. I apologise for the terrible photo but it gives links to his book and to the excellent photographs which accompanied the talk, by Emily Garthwaite - look at that photo of the girls combing eachother's hair! I love it!

This brings to an end a day of aquaerobics, shopping, talking on the phone, gardening (yet more raspberry bushes) and cooking.
