Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I finished the Jimmy Saville series this afternoon while JR and Archie were out. So the Catholic Church failed to indoctrinate him that he’d burn in hell for his sins. As he said, he ‘took his chances’ about that…

I met a friend (younger than me) in the Links who’s had FIVE back operations, but is gradually getting worse. She swears by the use of two hiking poles which help her walk. When I’d dropped Archie back home, and had a cuppa, I set off with my poles - Uncle A gave them to us years ago when we’d been up the Pentlands, when we thought hill walking was a good idea. It wasn’t.

Watched (again) the first episode of ‘The Union ‘ with David Olisoga. It’s absolutely engrossing, as I knew nothing of how this land became ‘The United Kjngdom’. We watched it again this afternoon because JR snored through the first episode last night…

Just been round to visit Abi and her mum and her mum’s friend. A jolly time was had. But we forgot to feed Archie before we went, so he was driven mad with the smells of sausage rolls and cheese.

It’s a hard life, Archie.
