Archie and I popped in to see Mary, who lives nearby, to give her the low down on the SA holiday. Often I'm a wee bit early to go and stand on the grass outside her sitting room and peer in. Actually, I can't see in, the glass is reflective, so we just wait a bit, and move on if she doesn't appear at the door.
I then settled down to switch off the rolling TV bad news, and read my new book (actually, I think I've still got an old book on the go...) I was reading a review in the Times - about the young woman (Robyn Davidson) who walked across the Australian desert with four camels and a dog years ago. She's written a new book, about her life, growing up in the back blocks of Queensland in the 50s and 60s. Easy to just buy it and download it to my phone (I don’t even bother with my Kindle now). I'm at chapter 8, which is good going for someone who usually falls asleep after a few pages.
JR was busy with gyms, supermarket shopping, taking Archie out again, washing Archie's beard - I don't know how he gets it so manky! Hang on - I DO know how he gets it so manky...
JR was browsing the Little Library in the neighbourhood. It's been there for a long time, and hasn't been vandalised, so that’s a bonus.
