Rome with a View

Surprisingly I slept reasonably well on the train film to Rome despite the noise. The boat trip was also very smooth.
It’s good to be back in the Eternal City after almost 40 years. We checked into our convent hotel and then as today was a free afternoon, Mr P and I wandered the streets and visited the Trevi Fountain (very busy) and Castel Sant’ Angelo. We then met friends and fellow parishioners for drinks in Piazza Navona. All of the parish group were out for a meal in the evening and we also visited all of the floodlit fountains by night. Exhausted now as walked loads. Very early start in the morning (5.45am) for our Vatican Mass. I’ll try and catch up with other journals tomorrow.
