On the road
We were up at 5.30am to check out and join a ‘tourist coach’ for a 6 hour trip to Chitwan National Park.
The trip was fantastically organised even though the roads and the driving were unbelievable. The mountain roads were still under construction but in use and busy, with overtaking on blind corners and sheer drops a constant on the journey.
But we made frequent ‘toilet stops’ and the scenery was stunning. Really stunning.
We arrived at our really decent lodgings - it was the type of hotel that had crisp linen bedding and lizards on the walls, and a rickety iron staircase to conquer to reach a third floor room with a view. Loved it. We were then well fed and taken on a walking tour. We met quite a lot of colour on the road. :-)
There’s so much to see.
Before supper, we were also treated to some local young men doing traditional dances which was a good balance having seen ladies dancing earlier.
This place is just so interesting. What a blessing to be able to see it all.
