Between fen and mountains

Sunset on the fens

I asked one of my friends at the Painting Group whether he thought this painting is finished and he said yes. I think there are one of two things I can still do so I may still play with it a little, but if it is not finished, it nearly is. I will sit with it for a few days on the mantelpiece and make up my mind.
This morning I went to the courts to knock some balls with David who is desperate to make it back playing properly again but has quite serious joint and arthritis problems despite being only about 40 and having had several medical interventions. He is quite happy to hit balls with people and give free advice. I can sense his frustration as he is a very good player, but he is limited at the moment in what he can do. Nortje then came down and he practised with her while I took a pannier of balls to the other courts to practice my serving. I stopped when I began to feel an ache in my shoulder. I iced it when I got back. I do not want to injure myself before the match next Sunday.
