After the match

It has been a full on day but very enjoyable. The match began at 9 am. I was put against their best player and lost but I didn’t play badly so was quite happy with that. We lost the match 3-1. We then sat down with the players from Ille sur Têt and had an excellent lunch, three different sorts of salad, barbecued sausages and three deserts all washed down with water or wine, followed by coffee. After lunch, when our visitors had left, we played our own doubles and Bernard and I won that contest. I just had time to have a shower before ringing the bells prior to a musical concert in the church. The concert was in two parts with the professionals playing the first half and then the students playing as an orchestra in the second half. The church was full to bursting and people were standing outside as well. There must have been about 200 people attending.
