Baking day

I spent some time on the phone in the morning talking to the leak and trace team who visited our rented out house in the UK. They found no leak and will be sending a list of suggestions to remedy the strange dampness and staining that has appeared in the middle of the living room floor and is producing mould. The letting agent is going to take another look and see if he can determine what is going on. The tenants are nice people but quite Gothic (from Whitby, Bram Stoker, Dracula country!) and seem to live with windows shut and curtains closed most of the time so that can't help. We shall see. I did a sourdough bake and was pleased with the result, a good rise, an airy crumb and attractive cracking of the crust.
