Hard at work...
We arrived in Tblisi, Georgia, in the middle of the night so a long lie was in order followed by a delicious buffet lunch at the Radisson Blu. We then had a number of informative meetings with local people before setting off on a walking tour of Tblisi. Spotted this old lady selling her wares in a shady spot at the edge of the beautiful Freedom Square. Swithered between a shot of the square itself or this one, but eventually chose this. The walking tour gave us a lovely first look at the city, then back to the hotel to change for dinner which proved to be a veritable banquet! The Georgian approach to meals is to produce a large number of different courses which are put on the table so that you can help yourself. We counted 11 courses at this first dinner! Admittedly, some are vegetable dishes and some are meat, and you help yourself to what you fancy. This approach has the great advantage that you get a taste of amny different dishes, but I pity the poor chefs! After dinner on to a Jazz club for a few drinks before heading back to the hotel to bed... exhausted but a great first day!
