spot the happy stall holder
Today was one of those days! Colin headed up north to his mum's while I went to pick Isobel up from her Gymnastics class. Having safely retrieved the granddaughter we headed to Blackhall Primary for their school fair. As I mentioned before, I'd encouraged NadinePierce to take a stall and was worried that it might not be a success. As I arrived though a lady came and made a purchase so Nadine was smiling. Isobel and I went and tried our luck at the adult and children's tombola, she did well and went off with a tiedye bag making kit so was very happy (My ticket gave me a large bottle of sherry). We headed round to the tuck shop, Isobel had a brownie, but as the adult I felt it necessary to be sensible so bought myself some marshmallow tophats.
After saying goodbye to Nadine and deciding we didn't have time for either the animal handling session or the skull identification quiz, we headed off. Next stop was Broughton High to drop Isobel off for her dance class - as she told Nadine, she is quite a sassy dancer.
I met up with Katy and Eilidh for a short while at their house as I dropped off Isobel's gymnastics stuff, they'd just got back. Eilidh didn't have much to say though as her Beano had just been delivered.
I went home for lunch then headed out to a craft market at Dalmeny mainly to see the church there. As it turned out the church wasn't open! The craft fair was very quiet, I think Blackhall was the better option.
While I was in the area I popped into a charity shop in South Queensferry and as well as some playmobile animals for Josie I found a new 12litre backpack which is what I had decided to buy for our holiday next month, so was happy with that. I use a10litre a lot at home but decided it wouldn't be big enough to hold my walking poles. When I got home those were my next purchase, I wanted some lightweight ones that folded up smaller than my current set.
I've had a quiet evening, out of the rain with the heating on and dropping in and out of various TV shows - and trying not to eat all the tophats.
Harvest service at church tomorrow and I'm on duty so I'll be up and about sharp in the morning. Hope you've all had a good Saturday.
In case you missed it yesterday btw I was late putting up the National Gallery Art quiz on my Blip so it's there if you want to have a go.
