Museum Antics

We needed to call in at Malton this afternoon and decided to combine it with a walk on the river bank. As we passed we noticed an event in Orchard fields the site of a Roman fort and settlement (Derventio). I had a wander up to see what was happening and encountered this Roman Festival hosted by Malton Museum.

This horseman was enjoying playing to the crowd and a soldier explaining his armour in the extra. Amazing what you can come across even if by accident.
