High Rise Beach Huts

After dropping Richard off at dialysis I decided on a bike ride to Holkham Hall. Damp at times but good to see the deer in the park. After a brief stop for a coffee decided to follow the Route 1 cycle route back. Quite an adventure as the surface changed from tarmac to sandy trail and finally a pebble strewn track. Fortunately the bike survived as it really is geared to road cycling. Just got back in time to pick up R.

The dialysis did the trick and he was more like himself.

We decided on a trip to Holkham Beach. Really enjoyed a wander along the wide expanse of beach. The tide was well out and explained why horses were needed to pull the lifeboat out to deeper water in times gone by. The beach was lined with wooded sandy dunes and a fine array of individually designed beach huts. I presume the  stilts are to protect from storm surges. The extra is a pool in the dunes which had some lovely reflections from the dune and charred log behind.

Think I may sleep well tonight!
