More Than A Bit Special

I travelled down to Cornwall early this morning to attend the funeral of an incredible man of 95 years, Mr Edward Ashton, who introduced me and countless others to music and particularly brass bands. In fact, I was most privileged to be invited to join the Helston Town Band to play at the service, a band that he conducted for more than 30 years. It was a wonderful, emotional farewell.

After the wake at the local social club, I headed to his home town of Porthleven which also has a special place in my heart. A couple of extras too.
