Proper Job

Following yesterday's church service, close friends and family gathered at Treswithian Crematorium and again I was privileged to play with the Helston Town Band, this time a 10-piece ensemble. In addition to his mastery of conducting, Edward Ashton had also been a very fine trombone player with dance, brass and big bands. In attendance were former players of the Camborne Band where Edward had played for many years. A local legend who had a proper send-off.

I stopped on the way home and couldn't resist purchasing a saffron cake.
