Russula Emetica?
A lovely calm day, mostly sunny in the morning, clouded over in the afternoon, and rained all evening.
Up early, ran out of gas whilst cooking breakfast, then headed out walkies with Sammy in the Brae Woods. Another walk in the Sullom forest too. Headed to St Magnus Bay Hotel for the Sunday carvery, brilliant as always. Packed up the caravan, and headed home. Feeling much better again, I returned to work in the shop this evening. A fairly quiet night with the rain, thank goodness, it took it out of me. Glad to get my feet up tonight.
A fine couple of wooded walks with Sammy was great today, we took our time strolling through. One thing I noticed was all the different varieties of mushrooms growing just now, especially this striking red and white one, possibly Russula Emetica. The forest is mostly pines, which fits with this mushrooms preferences. I don't remember ever seeing mushrooms like this as a boy, nor many of the other varieties. I'd imagine it's poisonous, I'd need to learn more about mushrooms. Taken in the Sullom forest, Northmavine.
