CO Day Two; Rain
Rain, rain, and more rain. It was torrential at times. Calm in the morning, winds picked up throughout the day. Burns overflowing, flooding in areas, various landslides, especially around the windfarm areas.
Up at 6am, headed into Lerwick to work. Another day working with James on the mini essykert (bin lorry). We did rounds around Lerwick, collecting grey lid recycling bins. Same collection in late morning and afternoon, but headed to Scalloway, the windfarm, Sand, Skeld, Silwick, Westerwick, Culswick, Gruting and then West Burrafirth. No walkies after work today. Popped down to Jonny's this evening, mam and Laura came by too. I did manage a walk with Sammy late tonight, stayed reasonably dry.
After a wonderful start to the new job yesterday, today could have been a make or break, but despite the torrential rains, I actually had a great day. We took turns jumping in and out the essykert, so I didn't get as soaked as I imagined I might have, also we yapped the whole journey, which distracted me from the rain too. I will be wishing for better weather, but this is Shetland after all. PPE dried and ready for another day. In the wet road, Sand Haa, Sand, Sandsting.
