Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Could have been worse…

I knew it was going to rain this afternoon, so I cut the grass, hung the sheets out, took Archie round the Links, and did the ironing - all before 11am.

JR went to the gym, came home, had breakfast, then went into town to - yes - return something (for me) and to get something. And she saw the old route of the much missed 41 bus (by me!), now number 9, was back in George Street. I may venture down on it tomorrow, as it's a MUCH handier bus than the other two routes from here.

Gosh, England played well last night, quite a surprise after their dismal performances of late. George Ford was a magician! But really, Argentina did NOT play well.

I've got an electrician coming tomorrow to fix our lights, although we're managing quite well without them. Actually, the chap who put all the lights in years ago, when we did the kitchen renovation is coming. Jan is also popping in to go over holiday arrangements - she's coming here again to look after Archie, though he's going to Elizabeth for several days first (and to Abi before that...)

JR took Archie out in the afternoon, just before the predicted 4pm rain came on, and it was HEAVY. They both came home soaked, after sheltering under a tree in the graveyard.

I then watched the Scotland v South Africa match, and it did not go well. Mind you, it could have been worse! SA were all over our lads, who couldn't do much right.

And I really need to start at least thinking of packing...

No photo taken today, so here's one from the other day down town.

PS: Well done Wales. Hard luck Fiji. Great game!!
