Covered Bridge

At one time there were about 40 covered bridges in Wisconsin........this is the only one left. Built in 1876 by request of the farmers who needed to cross the river to get to town (& who were tired of having the logs they were using to cross frequently being swept away by the river), it's construction was payed for by the city of Cedarburg. The bridge was used up until 1960 when a new road was built around it.
