Lake Michigan

Jen & Joe came home from their honeymoon last eve. (or more correctly, early this morning!). Their plane was supposed to leave Puerto Rico at 3:00, but was delayed 2 hours. They had a short layover in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, then arrived in Chicago about 11:00 p.m., only to find that their car wouldn't start! Some nice man driving out of the lot stopped & jumped the battery for them, so they finally arrived home about 1:00 a.m. Needless to say, Tom & I stayed up waiting for them, & by the time we'd heard all about the trip & looked at pictures, it was 3:00 a.m. I woke up at 8 & couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up & started boxing up the last of their wedding gifts. We all went out for a late breakfast, then helped them load the car up & they left about 2:00 to start the drive back to Houston! Lots of tears from Jen & I while the husbands looked at each other with that tolerant look that says "there they go again!" Can't help it! So much of my heart always goes along with her!! After they left, Tom & I went for a walk along the path up on the bluff above the lake--had to wear a jacket, as there's a stiff cold wind blowing straight at us from the Michigan side today!
