Rose of Sharon

The original plan of the day was to drive around the ridges looking for wildflowers. We got home late last night, I woke up early this morning and caught up on e-mail and immediately fell back asleep. It was too close to lunch to look for flowers and then almost time to leave for Mass. Tomorrow is another free day so maybe we will go then. I decided to showcase these beautiful old fashioned Rose of Sharon flowers instead. The bees are an added bonus. While looking for a quote, I learned this flower has ties to the Old and New Testaments. We have a new pastor at our WV parish. We really enjoyed the previous priest who was from Vietnam. He has an illness and is being treated in California. One of the parishioners said she doubts he will return. The young priest who is there now has an accent we will have to get used to but I doubt it will take long. My sister and BIL are taking hubby out for his birthday dinner. He has chosen a highly rated new restaurant. Our time here is going way too fast. Enjoy everyday, folks. Thanks for your visit. " I am the rose of sharon, the lily of the valleys!
