A pleasant surprise!

A jam packed day. The plan was to start early to do the shopping etc, but it got dragged out.

B is not well enough to accompany me, so I had to enlist an assistant’s help to buy Amber’s food. The 12 kg bag was a bit heavy for me, so the young man carried it to the car.

The next purchase was another curtain pole for the landing. They didn’t have one the correct length in store. It was available in Stoke, Derby, Burton and Stafford, but they don’t transfer products between stores. I wasn’t prepared to drive about to try to find these places, but I then discovered that I could pay to have it delivered from one of them. Which one I don’t care as long as it arrives on Sunday!!!

Finally to Tesco’s for the food shopping. Exhausting two  person job by one.

As I was leaving the house earlier the post lady turned up with a box containing flowers for me and whilst I was out B arranged them in a vase. A gift to say thank you for all the love and care whilst he has been poorly. He’s a gem.

We were due to go out to a wine tasting this evening. As we missed our trip to the cinema last weekend and B is still not well enough to go out yet and certainly cannot have alcohol with vertigo and medication, he suggested that I still attend. R is working away but S is still available. Two out of four is better than non. Villa Maria, New Zealand wines are my favourites.

I had booked a taxi down for us,  but it was late. I rang to check only to find that my request for 5.50 this evening is listed for 5.50 am tomorrow!!!!! Someone turned up a few minutes later, so we were only about 10 minutes later arriving.

We were both worn out, but the company and wine revived the spirits. At the end we found a taxi on the street, which took us home. I was dropped off first and then S on the way back into town.

Dinner was late, a ready meal from Tesco’s. I’ve never bought these before, I won’t be making a habit of it!! I will sleep well tonight.
