Tall Ships - Day 2

Levering myself out of bed early for a shower I was stiff as a board. I loosened up on my way down to the bacon buttie with coffee briefing. Seems a local councillor thinks all the volunteers are inept, following a barrage of criticism she’s now gone to ground but will no doubt resurface when the freebies are on offer.
A busy day for the ships and their crews, sports day at the rugby club in the morning, the ships open to visitors in the afternoon and evening with the crew parade thrown in during the afternoon for good measure.
I enjoyed it all, it’s a great thing to be part of, the crews are well versed in the drill for the visits, the crowds visiting queue with humour and patience, the shoreside organisation improves daily and all of this in bright sunshine although there is some concern for the weekends weather.
After another thirteen hour day I arrived home to dinner cooked by Sam, pasta with mushrooms in a cream and white wine sauce, just what I needed after a long day.

I didn’t think I would but I miss my daily walk with Paddy although I don’t think my aching feet would get me too far at the moment. Just to the end of the road to watch the laser light show going on the harbour, all part of the Tall Ships Week.
