Wow, The First One

Well it was such a brilliant morning, that I took myself along to Redcastle at
7.0am and lo and behold I saw this Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopus major). What a magnificent looking bird. They say the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker can be found with garden birds on garden feeders. Well I have news for the bird authorities, so can Great Spotted Woodpeckers. This is my blip for today and it was well worth the early trip!
