Honister Crag Bus

A cloudy morning, but cleared into a sunny day, well still cloudy in the fells (mountains).  Looks like it might rain tonight.

I didn't sleep well in the new bed, so up earlier than planned.  As we are staying in Hensingham, we walked down to the Whitehaven town centre and harbour.  After a week not seeing the sea, it was great to spend time there, and a cuppa in a café.  A lovely town full of character.  In the afternoon we headed into the Cumbrian Mountains.  Everywhere you go seems to be heavy charges with parking.  A quiet night back at the house.

A great day out exploring the Lake District.  Stopped off at Ennerdale, Loweswater, Buttermere, Honister, Seatoller and Borrowdale.  As we started to hike up the hill at Honister, a bus filled with passengers zoomed by and headed up the hill.  Much to my amazement, it took a steep route along the rocky cliff road.  Times like that, I'm glad my feet were safely on the ground and not in that bus.  The mountain tops out at 634m.  Spot the orange bus on Honister Crag (Black Star), Cumbria.
